IN THE EVENT OF A CLAIM FOR WARRANTY

Important:

In the event of any preliminary signs of malfunction, it is the customer’s responsibility to cease operation and report the problem to our warranty department. Phone: (07) 5445 3676

Failure to comply with this condition may result in more serious consequential damage and void any warranty entitlement.

It is the purchases responsibility to return the unit freight paid to our Nambour production centre for inspection regardless of state where purchased.

Totally imports cannot be held responsible for any implied or verbal representations outside the invoice description of goods sold.

Totally imports engines are usually sold unfitted, therefore the labour charge for fitting and/or removal of any engine subject to a warranty claim will not be reimbursed. Totally imports will not recognize or be held responsible for labour, transport charges, demurrage/down time, loss of profits or consequential damage or loss.

Totally Imports will not recognize any warrant claim where any failure or defect is caused by:

Overheating (all engines are supplied with a heat tab fitted. This must not be removed or tampered with). Where an engine is returned without the heat tab warranty will be automatically declined.

Overhead camshaft drive belt failure.

Misuse, overloading, over revving, accident or negligence.

Improper application or installation.

Failure to carry out proper maintenance and servicing. It is the customer’s responsibility to use correct oils and lubricants and keep them at the correct levels and maintain correct coolant levels.

Unauthorized repairs, alterations or dismantling.

In the event of any claim not being acceptable due to any provision under previous paragraph, the company reserves the right to recover reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred in the dismantling and inspection, such costs to be reimbursed by the customer prior to delivery of the unit. Cleared funds will only be acceptable as payment.

In the event of any dispute, a mutually acceptable third party opinion is to be obtained at your expense to assist adjudication of claim. E.g. RACQ or alternative engineer MTAQ accredited.

Totally imports must give written authorization prior to commencement of any repair.

Totally imports cannot be held responsible for any claim after work has been completed.

Totally imports will supply free of charge all components required to rectify.

Any authorized claims and reserves the right to supply used components in certain circumstances.
Engines and transmissions which are used for competition purpose or modified from standard form will be excluded from warranty.

This warranty does not affect the statutory rights of the customer.

WARRANTY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

THE LIABILITY FOR THE PRODUCT UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS LIMITED SOLEY TO THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT.

WITHIN THE PERIOD OF WARRANTY SHOULD THE PRODUCT SOLD BECOME DEFECTIVE, IT WILL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED AT THE FREE CHOICE OF THE VENDORE UPON RETURN OF THE PRODUCT (FREIGHT PAID) TO OUR WAREHOUSE.

TOTALLY IMPORTS MUST BE NOTIFIED OF ANY FAILURE AND GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO INSPECT ANY PRODUCT PRIOR TO ANY REPAIR WORK BEING UNDERTAKEN. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RENDER THE WARRANTY NULL AND VOID.

TOTALLY IMPORTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DEMURRAGE, LOSS OF PROFITS OR ANY OTHER CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS, DAMAGE OR EXPENSE ARISING OUT OF ANY DEFECT. THE SOLE LIABILITY OF THE COMPANY IS THAT REFERRED TO IN CONDITION 1.

LABOUR, INSTALLATION AND TRANSPORT COSTS (INCLUDING TOWING, ACCOMMODATION AND HIRE VEHICLES) ARE NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY.

WARRANTY IS NON TRANSFERABLE AND IS VALID ONLY TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER FROM INVOICE DATE. ALL CLAIMS MUST BE ACCOMPAINED BY A COPY OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE INVOICE.

ALL ENGINES/TRANSMISSIONS ARE PRE-USED AND ARE USUALLY SOLD COMPLETE WITH ACCESSORIES INCLUDING MANIFOLDS, CARBURETTOR, FUEL INJECTION, WATER AND FUEL PUMPS, TURBOCHARGES, ALTERNATOR, STARTER MOTER, FAN BELTS, TIMING BELTS, THERMOSTATS AND HOUSING, OIL AND TEMPERATURE SWITCHES, DISTRIBUTOR, HARMONIC BALANCERS AND FLYWHEELS ETC.

THESE ACCESSORIES ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND ARE LEFT ON THE ENGINE FOR CONVENIENCE AND TESTING PURPOSES ONLY.

THE EXACT ENGINE APPLICATION CANNOT ALWAYS BE GUARANTEED SO IN EVERY INSTANCE CHECK THE SUMP SHAPE BEFORE INSTALLATION AND CHANGE MANIFOLDS AND ANY OTHER ACCESSORIES (WHERE DIFFERENT) FOR LOCAL ADR COMPLIANCE AND/OR TO FACILITATE EASE OF FITMENT.

TIMING BELTS AND DAMAGE CAUSED BY TIMING BELT FAILURE IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. PLEASE ENSURE TIMING BELTS ARE REPLACED AND ASSOCIATED COMPONENTS ARE IN WORKING CONDITION.

OIL LEAKS ON PRE-USED MOTORS ARE NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. THOROUGHLY EXAMINE CRANKSHAFT AND CAMSHAFT AND CAMSHAFT SEATS, OIL FILTER HOUSING AND OIL COOLER ASSEMBLES. CHECK ROCKER COVER AND SUMP ASSEMBLY AS THESE ASSEMBLIES ARE OFTEN DAMAGED IN TRANSIT.

OIL CONSUMPTION: ALL ENGINES ARE PRE-USED. WHILST EVERY CARE IS TAKEN DURING TESTING NORMAL HIGHWAY CONDITIONS CANNOT BE EMULATED THEREFOR IT IS POSSIBLE SOME ENGINES WILL USE OIL. MAXIMUM OIL CONSUMPTION ON PRE-USED MOTORS IS CONSIDERED TO BE 1 LITRE PER 1000 KM.
ENGINES/TRANSMISSIONS ARE SUPPLIED WITH ALL LUBRICANTS DRAINED. PLEASE REPLENISH ENGINES/TRANSMISSIONS WITH CORRECT LUBRICANTS BEFORE PUTTING INTO SERVICE.

WHEN INSTALLING A MOTOR, WARRANTY WILL BE VOID IF THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES ARE NOT CARRIED OUT:

CHANGE OIL & FILTER, NEW THERMOSTAT TO BE FITTED. REMOVE RADIATOR, REMOVE TOP TANK & CLEAN, RECORE IF REQUIRED. ADD CORRECT INHIBITOR TO COOLANT SYSTEM. RADIATOR HEATER AND BY-PASS HOSES TO BE RE-NEWED IF NOT IN SERVICEABLE CONDITION. ENSURE THERMO/VISCUS FANS ARE WORKING TO MANUFACTURE’S SPECIFICATIONS. ENSURE ENGINE IS TUNED TO MANUFACTURE’S SPECIFICATIONS. ENSURE ANCILLARY EQUIPMENT USED IS FUNCTIONING TO THE MAUFACTURE’S SPECIFICATIONS.
